Salty Sam's Marina, located on Fort Myers Beach, has been consistently voted the best marina since 2005. With personal customer service, knowledgeable staff experienced in all aspects of the industry, and dedication to providing the highest quality in all of their departments, Salty Sam’s is truly a remarkable place for all of your boating needs.

From rentals to storage to delicious restaurants, Salty Sam’s is your go-to marina for an amazing day out on the water. Whether you’re new to boating or an experienced sailor, you’ll find everything you’re looking for, including advice or charters.

We were able to catch up with the marketing department at Salty Sam’s Marina and asked them a few questions to help get to know them better.

What is Salty Sam’s Marina? How would you describe it to a friend?

Salty Sam’s is consistently voted best marina on Fort Myers Beach. It has everything! People can rent boats and explore the back bay and Gulf waters, boaters enjoy wet and dry storage as well as an excellent service department, and the marina boasts two great restaurants-Parrot Key Caribbean Grill and The Original Shrimp Dock. Then, of course, you have the famous Pieces of Eight Pirate Cruise!

When and why did you start the business?

The business was purchased in 1999.  At the time the property was in a state of disrepair and we had a vision for a much greater potential.

What's something you wish people knew about your business?

It’s more than just a marina, it really is an entertainment destination. From Pirate Cruises, boat rentals, and dolphin tours, to dining, live music, and special events, there’s always something going on at Salty Sam’s. It’s a great destination for the entire family!

Personally speaking, what is your favorite thing about your business?

I love seeing the joy and happiness on people’s faces as they return from a day out on the water or from the Pirate Cruise. Seeing that happiness lets our team know we are doing something right.

What is a common question you get? Your answer to it?

I’d have to say one of the top questions we get the most is, what type of boat rentals we offer and tell me more about the Pieces of Eight Pirate Cruise. Salty Sam’s Marina offers several different types of boats so that your time on the water is maximized. We offer Center Consoles, Power Catamarans, Bow Riders, large Trimarans, and Kayak rentals. As for the Pirate Cruise questions, all I can say is it’s one of the best things you can do here in Southwest Florida! We offer all-ages cruises which the kids absolutely love and then an adults-only cruise on Friday nights. The “real” pirates that man the ship go above and beyond and they stay in character for the enjoyment of all. It’s a fantastic experience.

What is your most popular service?

It’s hard to say! If you had to twist my arm, I’d say the boat rentals, the restaurants, and the Pirate Cruise. But then again, people love the dolphin tours as well! See, it’s really hard to pick just one!

What's one of your most memorable moments while working there?

It’s not one moment, it’s all the moments. It’s the team here that really makes this a great place to work and visit. From the dockhands helping people with the boats to the restaurant teams serving up amazing tropical drinks, and everyone in between. It’s definitely the people that make Salty Sam’s great.

Are you involved with or do you support any local nonprofits, community organizations, or causes?

The list of nonprofits we’ve supported over the years is endless. Whether that has been through donations for fundraisers or hosting events on-site.  In recent years, we’ve had a particular interest in helping with the Lee Health Kids Minds Matter charity for pediatric mental and behavioral health.

What is the importance of the Fort Myers community to you?

We love the community! The city of Fort Myers Beach is a small town full of great people. We support one another and try every day to make Fort Myers Beach a better place.

Do you have any upcoming events, specials, or new products/services that people should know about?

There’s always something happening here at Salty Sam’s! We have live music just about every night between the two restaurants. People can enjoy the exciting dueling piano shows every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at The Shrimp Dock. Then over at Parrot Key people come from all around to listen to Deb and the Dynamics and Frank Torino. As far as larger events, we do classic car shows, city events like the Taste of the Beach, and the popular State Days at The Shrimp Dock. State Days are where we prepare food and drinks that are local to that particular state. It’s very popular because it seems like most people in Florida are from someplace else and we want to give that flavor from back home.

Anything else you'd like to add? Anything else we should know about you, the business & activities, how people can get involved, etc?

Just come down to Salty Sam’s Marina and see all the fun for yourself! We are located on Main Street in Fort Myers Beach - just take a left before the big Fort Myers Bridge and take that road down until you see the big Salty Sam’s signs. It’s fun for the whole family!
