Manateeum Fundraiser Gala

Build an Environmental Education Center at Sirenia Vista Park The Cape Coral community is growing rapidly and with growth comes additional loss of wildlife. This area is a beautiful representation of natural Florida and has immense importance in preservation of the estuaries and land in Cape Coral. An environmental education center will provide a space for research and enable specialists of nature and wildlife to meet and speak with the people who visit our estuary.  The Manatees, the turtles and myriad of wildlife need to co-exist with humans. The multitude of visitors to the area from around the world is increasing yearly and the planned education center affords an opportunity for visitors to learn about how we respect and care for the natural environment of Cape Coral. This will be an important tourist destination. $2,000,000.00 is needed to build the center. A design approval, permitting, public commentary meetings, etc. will be necessary initially. The layout of the Sirenia Vista Park plan includes the center plus viewing stations for the manatee and a kayak rental building.  This building will house displays of wildlife and information on the importance of estuaries and how they function, a research space, a classroom and a gift shop.
