Opera Naples Announces 2017-2018 Season

Opera Naples announces its upcoming 2017-2018 season starting in November 2017. This will mark the fourth season with internationally acclaimed conductor, Ramón Tebar, as Opera Naples' artistic director.

"I'm very excited to present three of the most popular Italian operas of all time: Madama Butterfly, L'Elisir d'Amore (Elixir of Love), and Le Nozze di Figaro (Marriage of Figaro) along with two of the best singers in today's opera world, María José Montiel and Luca Salsi in solo recitals. We're also continuing The Opera Naples Renata Scotto Academy, expanded both in duration and in the number of scholarships offered. It’s wonderful to see such outstanding musical programs thriving here in Naples as Opera Naples gains greater recognition worldwide.”

Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini
November 3, 2017 at 7:30 PM at Artis-Naples.
Based on the timeless theme of love and heartbreak combined with the clashing traditions of East and West, Madama Butterfly is one of Puccini's great masterpieces, full of ravishing melodies and emotional intensity. Opera Naples presents conductor, Ramón Tebar, a cast of international artists and the Naples Philharmonic in a fully-staged production that promises to be one of this season's outstanding events in Naples.  Conducted by Ramón Tebar. Stage Director is Jeffrey Buchman. Ticket prices: $25.00 - $115.00.

Beaux Arts Chamber Music Series featuring Violinist Frank Huang
January 16, 2018 at 7:30PM at the Wang Opera Center.
In addition to winning Naumburg and Hannover International Violin Competitions, Frank Huang occupies arguably the most enviable position in classical music today: concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.  He will join artistic director Tao Lin in a program featuring masterworks for violin and piano. Opera Stars Concert starring María José Montiel
 Mezzo Soprano, January 31, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Wang Opera Center.
The Mezzo from Madrid, María José Montiel, considered one of the greatest Carmens of our time, is also a lover of the concert repertoire. She will enchant us with an evening of beautiful French, Spanish and Brazilian songs as well as beloved operatic arias. She will be joined by pianist and artistic director, Ramón Tebar. February 2, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Wang Opera Center.
Directed by Renata Scotto. Come discover the international opera stars of the future! In this concert, participants chosen by Ms. Scotto will perform a program of varied operatic arias and ensembles. Ticket prices: $20.00 - $59.00.

Opera Stars Concert starring Luca Salsi
 February 18, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Wang Opera Center.
Directly from his role in Verdi's Il Trovatore at the Metropolitan Opera as well as recent performances at the Salzburg Festival, Royal Opera House in London, and La Scala in Milan, internationally known Italian baritone Luca Salsi will perform an evening of the great Italian operatic repertoire right here in Naples! He will be joined by pianist and artistic director, Ramón Tebar. Ticket prices: $35.00 - $95.00.

L'Elisir d'Amore (The Elixir of Love) by Gaetano Donizetti
February 23, 2018 and February 24, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Wang Opera Center.
Donizetti's The Elixir of Love is a charming romantic comedy in the Italian bel canto tradition that tells a tale of star-crossed lovers who eventually find happiness in one another’s arms. World renowned soprano, Renata Scotto, directs two performances of this exciting production at the Wang Opera Center. A Celebration of Leonard Bernstein Concert
March 10, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Wang Opera Center.
Join us for an evening of music performed by soloists and the Opera Naples Chorus to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the great American composer, educator and conductor, Leonard Bernstein.  One of the most visible personalities in classical music during the twentieth century, he is known for West Side Story and Candide, in addition to numerous symphonic works, choral pieces, ballet, and songs. Beaux Arts Chamber Music Series featuring Ying String Quartet
March 22, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Wang Opera Center.
Opera Naples welcomes the return appearance of the Grammy Award winning Ying String Quartet. They will perform one of the greatest masterworks in the quartet literature: Grosse Fugue by Ludwig Van Beethoven. Ying Quartet will also be joined by artistic directors Catherine Lan and Tao Lin in music for piano and string quartet. Ticket prices: $20.00 - $59.00.

April 11, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Wang Opera Center.
Beaux Arts Chamber Music Series presents An Evening of Romantic Russian Trios featuring beloved piano trios by Anton Arensky and Tchaikovsky performed by Avery Fischer Award winning violinist Chee-yun Kim, Naumburg Award winning cellist David Requiro, and artistic directors Catherine Lan and Tao Lin. Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
May 10, 2018 at 7:30 PM at Artis—Naples.
Opera Naples presents Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, his brilliant version of the ageless story of love and forgiveness.  Conductor, Ramón Tebar leads an international cast and the Naples Philharmonic in this fully-staged production of the classic comedy from one of the greatest composers of all time. A Special Event

Opera in the Garden is Opera Naples Annual Benefit. It will be held on February 20, 2018 at 5:30 PM at the Naples Botanical Garden. There will be a sunset performance of classic operatic arias and an evening of fine dining and camaraderie.
Individual Tickets: $350 & $500, Tables of 10: $3,500 & $5,000.
