We were able to catch up with Prima Luce’s Developer, Robert MacFarlane, to chat about how they came to be, what their vision was, and so much more!
What is Prima Luce? How would you describe it to a friend?
Prima Luce is a two-tower, 220-residence, high-rise waterfront condominium in the historic River District of Downtown Fort Myers, Florida, featuring resort-inspired amenities and nine customizable floor plans, with stunning views of the Caloosahatchee River from EVERY residence.
When and why did you start the business?
With more than fifty years of experience in more than $2 Billion worth of real estate transactions, development, construction, and renovations across the United States of America, we are well-recognized for our contribution in jump-starting the revitalization of Downtown Fort Myers in the early 2000s. Prima Luce on the Waterfront’s two towers will mark our fifth and sixth high-rises in Downtown Fort Myers on the Caloosahatchee, preceded by the completion of new condominium communities at the Beau Rivage, St. Tropez, and Riviera on First Street, and the re-development of a former Sheraton hotel on Edwards Drive into an independent living 55+ community (Campo Felice).
What's something people usually assume about the condos? What do people usually assume that's incorrect?
Many assume that they simply can’t afford to live in a beautiful waterfront high-rise; but Prima Luce offers a range of options, but the cost is hundreds of thousands - and in some cases MILLIONS - of dollars LESS than similar residences located in more expensive waterfront areas, such as Naples, Sarasota, and Miami. Studios start in the $300,000s, with prices on upper floor units averaging $600-$800 thousand.
What is your personal favorite aspect of the group and your mission?
Waterfront living doesn’t have to cost millions and millions of dollars, and we’re proud to be offering high-quality homes with resort-type amenities and spectacular views that are more financially accessible to a wider range of buyers.
Are you involved with, or do you support any local nonprofits, community organizations, or causes?
Because the Prima Luce sales center is located in Downtown Fort Myers, the Prima Luce team loves to participate in Downtown events – like the monthly Art Walks and Music Walks, popular annual events, and the day-to-day activities of downtown.
