Mighty Mussels Makes Memories

Apr 29, 2026 08:00AM ● By Ann Marie O’Phelan

Catch the action at Hammond Stadium where the Mighty Mussels deliver All-American fun with themed nights, character appearances, custom jerseys, and plenty of concessions. Perfect for families looking to make memories this spring and summer.

It’s hard to beat a baseball game if you’re looking for family fun! Fort Myers’ Mighty Mussels make it easy to watch a game and have a good time, offering special regular promotions with themes.

Spokesperson Dave Breitenstein explains what’s coming up in the next few months, to name a few. On Friday, May 8, at 7:05 pm, the Mighty Mussels will play Tampa, with Islands Night as the theme, celebrating and supporting the island communities of Sanibel and featuring a postgame drone show. On Saturday, May 9, versus Tampa at 6:05 pm, the theme will be Princess and Pirate Night. Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest, and there will be special character appearances. On May 30 at 6:05 pm, the Mighty Mussels play Jupiter, and the theme is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Night with custom jerseys and character appearances. And there’s plenty more to check out for May and the ongoing months on the calendar.

What's also great about enjoying a game at Hammond Stadium is that there is plenty of food and refreshments throughout the stadium. From All-American foods like hot dogs, cheesesteaks, hamburgers, fries, to snacks like popcorn, pretzels, and of course, crackerjacks, there's something for everyone.

While the Mighty Mussels are certainly mighty, another great choice is the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles’ baseball games taking place in May in the area, such as FGCU versus West Georgia on all three nights at Swanson Stadium on Friday, May 8 at 6:30 pm, Saturday, May 9 at 5 pm, and Sunday, May 10, at 1 pm. They also play Florida Atlantic on Tuesday, May 12 at 6:30 pm, also at Swanson Stadium.  There is a concession stand, public restrooms, a sound system, and a video camera system.

Other SW Florida baseball fields to check out include JetBlue Park at Fenway South (Spring training home of the Boston Red Socks), City of Palms Park (former spring training of the Red Socks) and minor league five-plex, and check out Florida Southwestern State College’s baseball where you can see the Bucs! Find out more at FSW baseball.

What better way to enjoy All-American fun than enjoying a baseball game!
