Digital Discussion: Roberto Clemente, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Thomas Edison's Connection with Baseball in Fort Myers

From 1955 to 1968, the Pittsburgh Pirates conducted spring training in Fort Myers. This Major League Baseball Team was led by hall of fame outfielder Roberto Clemente during the Jim Crow Era. In this informative talk, Site Program Manager, Holly Shaffer, will discuss the well-known professionals who played for the Pirates in Southwest Florida and their major championships, including the 1960 World Series. An overview of baseball and Thomas Edison's connection will the sport will also be covered.
