A Celebration of Baseball Legends
To highlight baseball’s deep roots in Southwest Florida as people cheer on their favorite Spring training teams, we are having a celebration of baseball legends on March 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.! The public is invited to come meet Connie Mack, III, see the new exhibit, listen to baseball presentations, tour the museum and botanic research laboratory. Plus, enjoy kid’s activities and food trucks. Cornelius McGillicuddy, aka “Connie Mack,” was the manager and owner of the Philadelphia Athletics. Thomas Edison was a frequent visitor at Terry Park and one at least one occasion, participated in batting practices with the Athletics team. The Mack and Nolen families graciously loaned the Estates key artifacts to create the new baseball exhibit “Fanatics: Edison, Mack and Baseball in Fort Myers.”
